Essay

The dissertation deals with the study of the consolidation phenomenon and the socio-psychological features of the political groups consolidation. The work provides the theoretical and methodological analysis of the approaches to defining consolidation. The socio-psychological features of political groups consolidation (ideological and electoral) are clarified. The concept of consolidation as a socio-psychological phenomenon is distinguished from other concepts of unity (mobilization, solidarity, integration and social unity). Consolidation as a characteristic of a group necessarily implies the existence of the formed value system of a group, which is a fundamental component of the consolidated group. The content and structure of consolidation are formed by the following components: 1) value-oriented unity, 2) common socio-political motives, 3) common image of the desired future of Ukraine, 4) political identity, 5) group identity, 6) reflective capital formed by common ideas about consolidation and ways to achieve it, political selfefficacy, as well as ideas about the similarities and differences in the views of their group members, readiness for joint actions, dialogue and search for consensus solutions.
