On the basis of comparative legal analysis of medical tourism in countries that are the world leaders in this field (UAE, United Kingdom, Israel, India, Spain, Canada, Malaysia, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey Japan), countries with predominant features of traditional medical tourism (Canada, Singapore, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, UAE) and with the features of the modern medical tourism (Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Israel) were distinguished. Also, the general and specific features of medical tourism in the above countries were named, which have a positive impact on its effective development. The specific features of medical tourism in individual countries with its modern type are: a) the creation of special state bodies (Malaysia); b) adoption of special laws on medical tourism (Israel); c) introduction of medical tourism in the areas of state policy (Turkey); d) introduction of privileges for airline flights for medical tourists (Turkey); d) introduction of special visas for medical tourists (India); e) funding by the government of medical tourism or the most popular medical centers (Turkey, South Korea).
