Zhang Y. Genre Types of the Chinese National Opera in the Works of Yin Qin

The dissertation is devoted to the study of genre types of great Chinese opera in the works of Yin Qin (born in 1954). Attention is focused on understanding the ways of forming the creative personality of the «war artist» and «Chinese Schubert of the twenty-first century», highlighting his aesthetic and artistic ideals, reproduced in contemporary Chinese art song and the latest great Chinese opera («The Grand Canal. The Ballad of the River», 2012, and The Great March of the Chinese Red Army, 2016). In the art of China at the beginning of the twenty-first century, the creation of a modern national opera as a revival of the memory of the past became important. The creative team of the Beijing Theater, headed by Chen Ping, has developed a concept of the Chinese opera of the future, where the primary role is played by the originality of the plot, monumentality, and national intonation. The concept of the modern Chinese opera, reproduced by Yin Qin, is studied.
