Velia M. Development of the composition and technology of a soft dosage form with a thick extract of feverfew

The thesis is devoted to the theoretical and experimental substantiation of the composition, technology, and quality control methods of a soft medicinal product (MP) for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system (MSS). MSS diseases are extremely common today and occupy a leading place due to other diseases. For the treatment and elimination of pain syndrome, drugs of synthetic origin are used, but due to the fact that they can be used for a long time, in order to find an alternative, the scientific data available in the literature on the anti-inflammatory effect of drugs of certain types of plants were considered: arnica mountain, comfrey, turmeric , ginger and maidenhair chestnut. Among them, tanacetum parthenium attracts special attention, which has both «in vitro «and «in vivo» scientific data in favor of the effectiveness of its preparations as anti-inflammatory agents, and it grows and can be cultivated on the territory of Ukraine. In the conditions of the dissertation research, for the first time, based on physicochemical, rheological, microbiological, and pharmacological studies, the composition and technology of production of a new soft dosage form with a thick extract of maroon maidenhair under the conventional name "Tanacel" was scientifically substantiated and experimentally worked out. The type and amount of gelling agent in the composition of the soft dosage form were substantiated, and its influence on the organoleptic, biopharmaceutical, rheological, and textural properties of the developed drug was determined. The rational content of the oil phase was established. For the first time, with the use of modern research methods, the quality indicators of the developed soft dosage form were established, the physicochemical, structural, and mechanical properties of the drug were investigated, and the methods of qualitative and quantitative determination of marker substances in the composition of the soft dosage form were developed. A rational soft dosage form technology under the conventional name "Tanacel" has been developed, and the conditions and shelf life of the drug have been determined. For the first time, according to the results of pharmacological studies, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of the developed drug was proven, the absence of toxic effects was established, and the microbiological purity of the drug was confirmed
