Demchenko P. Management of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises considering the innovation and investment component

The thesis is devoted to solving the scientific task of theoretical substantiation and development of methodological approaches and practical recommendations for increasing efficiency of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises in the context of improving management of innovation and investment processes. In the course of the research, theoretical and methodological foundations and applied provisions of management of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises in the context of its progressiveness are used. Based on the theory of potential and the principle of maximum of the uncertainty functions and the error functions, methodological approaches and relevant tools for criteria-based assessment, diagnostics and ranking of situations and levels of enterprise sustainable development are improved and systematized, considering the impact of key aspects of innovation and investment activities. The first section of the research investigates theoretical and methodological foundations of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises with regard to the state of innovation and investment processes. The second section analyzes the current state of national iron ore enterprises in the context of innovation and investment activities and prospects for their development. The third section offers applied scientific and practical recommendations for improving efficiency of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises in the context of the innovation and investment component. The research studies characteristic features of management and optimization of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises under uncertainty and risk. The research develops methods for diagnosing the level of sustainable development of an iron ore enterprise, considering the innovation and investment component, where the main stages comprise the following: 1) analysis of key indicators of economic activity of an ore mining and processing enterprise in the context of using production, financial and economic potential under market transformations within a given retrospective period; 2) assessment of the level of monopolization of the iron ore market based on Rosenbluth and Herfindahl-Hirschman indices; 3) multi-criteria assessment of the level of sustainable progressive development considering risk; 4) assessment of the level of competition intensity depending on the market dynamics indicator; 5) multi-criteria assessment of the level of sustainable development of iron ore enterprises, considering activation of the innovation and investment component; 6) development of diagnostic matrices for ranking situations and levels of sustainable development considering the innovation and investment component; 7) analysis of diagnostic matrices built on the basis of point 6 with involvement of managerial decision-making criteria in calculating uncertainty and the risk caused by it; 8) substantiation of recommendations for managing the level of sustainable development of an iron ore enterprise, considering the innovation and investment component.
