The dissertation is devoted to determining the peculiarities of the intertext of the poetic, literary-critical, and journalistic works of the contemporary Ukrainian writer V. Bazylevskyi. The object of the study is such books of lyrics by V. Bazylevskyi as Date with You (1978), As Long as the Music Sounds (1982), Sense of Heavenly Earth (1983), By the Only Light (1983), Works and Days (1984), The Well (1988), The Nativity Scene (1992), Station Square (1994), Stolen Sky (1999), Tetraptych (1999), The Cry of the Hare (2000), The Mists of Ithaca (2001), Vivarium (2004), The End of Navigation (2004), Reading the Ashes (2007), By the Ways of the Wind (2011), Bow and Lyre (2016), Reservation Air (2016), and A Mined Paradise (2018); collections of philosophical essays, literary criticism, and interviews, The Bow of the Odysseys (2005), The Cold Soul of History (2008), and Talent and Talent (2021). These books cover more than 50 years of the author's career and serve as a source for researching such issues as Bazylevskyi's generational affiliation, the issues and main motives of his work, and the peculiarities of the author's intertextual strategy. The subject of the study is the origin, ideological and thematic determination, and functions of the intertext of the artistic, literary-critical, and journalistic discourses of V. Bazylevskyi's work. The dissertation aims to identify the peculiarities of V. Bazylevskyi's reception of precedent artistic images and motifs and to outline the features of the artist's intertextual strategy at different stages of his stylistic evolution.
