The dissertation is devoted to the actual problem of training of future translators in higher education institutions in France with the use of personality –oriented learning technologies. This comparative study is related to the rethinking of foreign experience in the organization of personality-oriented education in higher schools and universities of France and the search for mechanisms for its adaptation to the domestic realities of today.
The purpose of the study is to identify the content and technological features of personality-oriented professional training of future translators of France, substantiate the model and scientific and methodological recommendations for the introduction of progressive ideas of the French experience in the domestic higher education system.
The scientific novelty of the study is that:
– for the first time the ideas of personality-oriented learning technologies are identified based on psychologically oriented methodological models; a prognostic model of professional training of future translators in higher education institutions of Ukraine using the French experience of personality-oriented education has been developed, and it identifies common and distinctive features of professional training of future translators in France and Ukraine;
– the essence of the concepts «professional training of future translators» has been specified; «translation activity», «professional competence of a translator»; the competencies that the future translator have to master have been specified; the provisions of global trends in the training of translators and their activities in the labor market have been specified;
– scientific approaches have got further development to the process of future translators training; different approaches to the functioning of translation activities; organization of higher education in France; methodical and technological support of professional training of future translators in France and Ukraine.
The practical significance of the research lies in the development and implementation of content-technological support for the professional training of future translators using personality-oriented learning technologies; scientific and methodological recommendations for the training of specialists in the field of translation in the organizational (at the state and university levels) and technological plans (at the teaching and personal levels); in writing a section of the monograph «Higher education of different countries» («Features of higher education of France»), a dictionary («Pedagogical innovation: a terminological dictionary»); in the application of theoretical and practical material, the source base of the dissertation in the content of such disciplines as «Innovative learning technologies», «Higher school pedagogy», «Comparative pedagogy», «Development of university education». The results of the study can be used in the development of educational programs, textbooks and manuals and working curricula in pedagogical disciplines.
The dissertation identifies and characterizes the current trends of the translators training and their activities on the labor market as areas of modern development of this industry: globalization, internationalization, informatization, localization, centralization and consistent management of linguistic assets, specialization in certain topics, personal orientation of education. The essence of the basic concepts of the «professional training of future translators» research has been specified; «Translation activity», «professional competence of a translator»; different approaches to the functioning of translation activities (structural-semantic, functional, communicative-functional, intercultural, linguistic, cognitive, integrated, ergonomic) have been considered; methodological approaches of research have been defined (personality-oriented, competence, intercultural, cognitive-communicative); based on the analysis of standards governing translation services, the main competencies in the structure of professional competence of the future translator (personal, professional, information and technical, intercultural) have been identified.
Aspects of application have been considered of such personality-oriented technologies as training, the center of which is a person's personality, identity, self-worth, subjective experience: principles, practical tasks, classification, features, main ideas, models, methodological advice on implementation.
The main directions of modern French educational policy in the field of higher education have been highlighted.
