2. The dissertation provides profound research of structural features of word-formation rows with the suffix -ment, word-formation models, motivational relationship, lexico-semantic fields and lexico-semantic groups of words with - ment. Besides, an attempt to create a dictionary of R-words of the artificial language of the applicative generative model and L-words of the natural language with the suffix -ment was made. The relevance of the study of the proposed dissertation is caused by the lack of research of word-formation rows in modern linguistics. The first section outlines a different definitions of a word-formation row, presents the difference between a word-formation row and other word-formation units. The second section presents nominative, verbal, adjectival and confixal word-formation rows. Word-formation variants of words with the suffix -ment and characteristics of typical word-formation patterns of confixal rows were described. The third section discusses motivational relations in word-formation rows. The classification of motivational relations was considered. Lexico-semantic fields and lexico-semantic groups of words with the suffix -ment were created. Interfield relations were demonstrated. The scientific novelty of the dissertation research is that approaches to studying word-formation rows have been standardized, for the first time nominative, verbal, adjectival, confixal word-formation rows with the suffix -ment have been formed, lexico-semantic fields and lexico-semantic groups of words with the suffix -ment have been identified, interfiled relations have been illustrated, dictionary of R- and L-words with the suffix -ment have been created. The practical significance of the obtained results of the dissertation is that given definitions to new notions can be used in educational process while teaching theoretical courses; teaching and guiding work while developing teacher editions and textbooks in word-formation and lexicology; lexicographical work for creating dictionaries and reference books in English with the help of the developed dictionary of R-and L-words. At the same time, the research can be beneficial both for specialists engaged in linguistics and derivatology and a wide range of teachers and students at philological departments.
