Essay

The dissertation is devoted to research of the professional development of the State Emergency Service’s future officers. The relevance of the study is determined by the importance of choosing the future profession of an individual and adapting to it, as an integral component of further personal development, quality of life and environment. The professional formation of future officers of the State Emergency Service has its own psychological features, as it is caused by a high level of stress and a certain closedness of the system. The systematization of various scientific literary sources showed that different approaches to the periodization of specialist’s professional formation were proposed, which proceed from different foundations and as a result complement each other. In the course of the theoretical analysis, the main stages of the professional formation of a specialist in the emergency department were highlighted: the first stage – "professional definition"; the second stage is "adaptation"; the third stage – "entering the profession"; the fourth stage is "mastery". Each of the selected stages of the professional formation of a specialist has its own difficulties. During the research, it was found that the stages of "professional definition" and the stage of "entering the profession" were of particular importance in the professional formation of future officers of the State Emergency Service. The research represents the organization and results of the empirical research, which consists of six parts and is presented using a wide range of theoretical, empirical and statistical methods. The total sample of the dissertation study was made up of 704 people – cadets of the 1st and 4th years studying in higher education institutions with specific study conditions: Lviv State University of Life Safety, Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after the Heroes of Chernobyl of the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine and the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine. As a result of conducting a questionnaire developed personally, it was determined that the majority of cadets chose their future profession unconsciously. The determination of the gender identity of male and female cadets was also carried out, which proved the presence of the androgenic type of the absolute majority, which indicates the development of flexible role behavior and high social adaptive abilities. Diagnostics of professional identity showed that the studied male and female cadets of the 4th year are characterized by either a full-fledged attribution of oneself to the profession with a positive assessment of one's own qualities, or a denial of one's uniqueness, which is accompanied by a violation of self-identification with the closest professional environment. It was also found out that a significant part of first-year cadets are in a crisis of professional identity and anxiety. We assume that the professional formation of future officers is not effective enough, therefore we propose to put a special emphasis on practical activities in specializations for entrants in order to familiarize in detail themselves with future professional activities. It is recommended to place the main emphasis on the I-st and IVth courses, which are transitional between two stages on the path of professional development. In order to improve the efficiency of professional formation, we propose the introduction of educational work on officer culture and social and psychological training on the following topics: "Professional and important psychological qualities of an officer of the State Emergency Service"; "Formation of the collective in the conditions of study in the higher education institution with specific conditions of study of the State Emergency Service"; "Typical problems during adaptation to the conditions of training and service." The scientific novelty of the research results is that: for the first time: – substantiated stages and main components of the professional development of future officers of the State Emergency Service; – the gender features of the professional formation of cadets of higher education institutions of the State Emergency Service System are determined. improved: – ways and methods of assessing psychological readiness and motivation for professional activity among future officers of the State Emergency Service; received further development: – a system of professional and psychological training of cadets-future officers of the State Emergency Service. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the fact that the results of the study provide an opportunity to improve the process of professional formation of future officers of the State Emergency Service System during their training in the higher education institutions with specific training conditions.
