Essay

The possibilities of using the scientific and pedagogical heritage of Borys Korotiaiev for the development of domestic pedagogical theory and practice are outlined. It has been established that the pedagogical ideas of Borys Korotiaiev do not lose their significance in the modern conditions of education modernization in Ukraine and find practical implementation in the work of individual teachers and in the process of teaching cycles of disciplines in educational institutions of various types. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time in the national historical and pedagogical science, the pedagogical heritage of Borys Korotiaiev has been comprehensively analyzed and systematized, the main prerequisites and factors that influenced the formation of the teacher's scientific and pedagogical worldview have been clarified (personal, political, scientific and educational ), a periodization of the educational activity of Borys Korotiaiev has also been developed: The first period (1947 – 1964) – professional self-determination; the second period (1964 – 1990) – scientific and pedagogical development, the third period (1991 – 2019) – active scientific and pedagogical activities of the scientist; the educational activity and pedagogical ideas of Borys Korotiaiev are comprehensively revealed (views on the development of secondary and higher school didactics, the introduction of the innovative concept of flexible pedagogical technologies into the pedagogical space, the use of single-subject teaching technology, the problems of educating pupils and student youth, the role of independent work in the educational process, new approaches to the control and evaluation system); biographical information about the life and scientific activity of Borys Korotiaiev has been clarified; scientific concepts regarding such concepts as «theory of pedagogical philosophy», «free educational space», «goal of education», theories of pedagogical philosophy of Borys Korotiaiev have acquired further development, coverage of issues of didactics in the modern educational process. The practical significance of the research results is that its materials (biographical and factual data, periodization of educational activity, scientific and pedagogical work of Borys Korotiaiev, systematized scientific and pedagogical heritage) can be creatively adapted in order to improve the modern educational process in Ukraine.The main results and conclusions of scientific intelligence may be used in the educational process of educational institutions of various levels, for the preparation of educational and methodological support for teaching pedagogical disciplines in the process of professional training of future pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers, writing course, diploma, and qualification papers on pedagogy.
