The dissertation systematically explores the problematic of the new
repertoire potential for the saxophone, which is relevant for modern wind academic musical performing arts, marked by original solo saxophone works accompanied by an academic wind orchestra. The paper analyzes the main theoretical and initial base of scientific research, the main stages of formation of the repertoire palette of academic saxophone performance are defined, the artistic and performing specificity of works for saxophone with a wind orchestra is revealed at the level of artistic and figurative content of saxophone compositions, evolution of performing means of expressiveness of the academic saxophonist, timbre and color originality of the solo sound of the saxophone accompanied by a wind orchestra. The original saxophone repertoire is also studied taking into account the introduction of the solo performing form into the overall compositional structure of academic works for saxophone with a wind orchestra.
It is noted that this issue of modern saxophone repertoire innovations in the
proposed perspective, namely, the solo sound of a saxophone accompanied by a
wind orchestra, has not been sufficiently studied by Ukrainian and foreign achievements and performance style of the most famous saxophonists of today
(Nobuya Sugawa, Timothy McAlister, Claude Delangle, Asya Fateeva,
Michelle Supera) was carried out in terms of reflecting the artistic result through
the prism of the evolution of performance technique in modern saxophone art.
scientists. The relevance of the study is determined by the constant increase in the number of original academic works for saxophone and wind orchestra, as well as the relentless growth of the professional level of domestic and foreign wind
orchestras.Thus, the demand for the proposed topic is determined by its significant performing and practical significance, outlined primarily in the field of academic wind musical performing arts, as well as in the field of modern musical,
pedagogical and conducting practice, in line with the history of performance on
academic wind instruments, in the new repertoire of artistic, editorial and directing
activities for concert, festival and competitive events. The results of the proposed dissertation work may be interesting, first of all, from a professional and practical point of view, to academic instrumentalists (professional saxophonists and representatives of other wind specializations from the academic wind instruments), conductors, teachers, instrumentalists, arrangers,
composers, teachers of professional and musical - theoretical disciplines, directors of cultural and artistic events, editors of music educational and methodical literature, etc. The scientific novelty of the presented research work consists in addressing an understudied layer of academic original music of the second half of the 20th - beginning of the 21st centuries, written for saxophone with a wind orchestra; highlighting its features, marked, first of all, by the extensive artistic and performance specificity of the expressive possibilities of academic saxophone performance accompanied by a professional wind orchestra. The study chronologically highlights the processes of evolution of the academic saxophone repertoire, in particular saxophone compositions with a wind orchestra, in the context of changes in its artistic and expressive properties; the processes of
formation and development of the composition of the wind orchestra, as an
accompanying orchestra group, are traced; an analysis of the creative work, artistic.
