This dissertation explores the bodily Ego of adolescents with scoliosis, analyzing the concepts of "bodily Ego" "mechanisms of psychological defense," and "coping strategies." The author compared the features of the bodily Ego of adolescents with scoliosis to a control group using diagnostic methods, including surveys and narrative analysis. The purpose of the study is theoretical substantiation and empirical study of the features of psychological defense mechanisms and coping strategies involved in the formation of the bodily Ego of adolescents with scoliosis. Object: bodily Ego of a teenager. Subject: mechanisms of psychological defense and coping strategies in the formation of the bodily Ego of adolescents with scoliosis. The results indicate that adolescents with scoliosis employ distinct mechanisms of psychological defense compared to the control group. These mechanisms impact all aspects of the bodily Ego: visual, verbal, and emotional-relational. The findings underscore the importance of considering the bodily Ego and its mechanisms in tandem for a comprehensive understanding of the social-psychological adaptation of adolescents with scoliosis. The practical significance of the study lies in demonstrating the role of psychological defense mechanisms and coping strategies in shaping the bodily Ego of adolescents. This knowledge can be applied to develop focused psychological support and therapeutic interventions to facilitate the adaptation of this group. Future research should examine the dynamics of the formation of the bodily Ego across different age and social groups to devise effective models of psychological intervention.
