The dissertation is devoted to the problem of forming the research competence of future psychologists in the process of professional training. The relevance of the dissertation topic is due to the dynamic changes taking place in education and society, in particular, the growth of the role of scientific knowledge and research activities, as well as changes in the requirements for the professional training of future psychologists. The state of development of the researched problem is revealed by identifying and analyzing such interrelated components as: research activity of future psychologists, theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of research competence of students in the context of professional training, the specifics and features of the psychologist's professional activity, the research competence of future psychologists and the formation of a certain quality in process of professional training. The introduction substantiates the relevance and expediency of the research, formulates the goal, task, defines the object, subject and research methods; the scientific novelty and practical significance of the obtained results are disclosed, data on the approval of the main provisions of the research, publications, structure and scope of the work are presented. In the first chapter "Formation of the research competence of future psychologists in the process of professional training as a subject of scientific and pedagogical research" the state of the problem of the formation of research competence of future psychologists in the process of professional training is analyzed, the concept and essence of the research competence of future psychologists is revealed, taking into account the specifics of the research activity of future psychologists in the process future professional activity and preparation for it. Based on the terminological analysis of the key concepts of the study, taking into account the analysis of the state and specifics of the professional training of future psychologists in pedagogical higher education institutions regarding the formation of research competence in them, the essence of the concept of "research competence of the future psychologist" as a dynamic personal formation, which is manifested in the readiness and ability to implement research activity and includes knowledge of the main components of this activity and the ability to implement them, stable recognition of the importance of research activity for solving professional tasks. In view of a number of features of the psychologist's professional activity, it is substantiated that research competence is an integral component of the psychologist's professionalism, his professional competence. The content of the research competence of future psychologists is revealed as a complex personal formation that combines the following interrelated structural components: axiological, cognitive, procedural and acmeological. The problem of forming the research competence of future psychologists was studied from the standpoint of axiological, competence, acmeological, personal-activity approaches. In the second chapter "Scientific and methodological principles of the formation of research competence of future psychologists in the process of professional training" the technology of formation of research competence of future psychologists and the pedagogical conditions for its implementation are revealed. In the dissertation, the author's model is designed, which ensures the effectiveness of the process of formation of the studied phenomenon in the conditions of professional training of future psychologists. It consists of three blocks: target, content-procedural and evaluation-resultative. The target block of the model is the goal, methodological approaches and principles of forming the research competence of future psychologists. Based on the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, a number of principles have been identified, on the basis of which students of the specialty 053 "Psychology" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education should develop research competence, starting from the first year of study. We refer to such principles: the principle of systematicity and integrity - ensures the interconnection and interdependence of the stages, forms, methods and means of forming the specified competence; the principle of problem-solving – the implementation of this principle obliges teachers to improve teaching methods, based on modern scientific achievements (discussion in classes of problematic situations to solve debatable issues; taking into account didactic aspects in the development of scientific extracurricular activities for students, etc.); the principle of activity and independence - allows to consider the student as an active participant in the research process.
