In the dissertation the problem of development of professional communication skills of art college teachers in the conditions of methodical work is investigated and a new approach to its solution is proposed, which consists in the introduction of organizational and methodological conditions for the development of professional communication skills of art college teachers in the conditions of methodical work. On the basis of the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, the categories that are basic for determining the essence of the concept of “professional communication of a college teacher of art direction” are considered, namely: “communication”, “professional communication”, “professional communication of a teacher”, “teacher of an art college”. It is established that communication is a special type of activity that accompanies any other type of human activity. The definition of “professional communication” is defined as an important means and condition for solving the problems of a particular professional activity. Professional communication of teachers in the study is considered as a specially organized, managed, purposeful activity, the content of which is the exchange of information, experience, organization of relationships and mutual understanding, achievement by the teacher of optimal interaction with colleagues, students and management to solve professional problems. It is noted that the professional activity of a college teacher of artistic direction integrates relatively autonomous artistic and pedagogical spheres. Therefore, professional communication of art college teachers should mark the unity of professional communication of the teacher and professional communication of the artist (musician, artist, choreographer, etc.).
