Giga S. The art of arrangement in the aspect of style evolution of Ukrainian pop-vocal creativity.

The object of the dissertation is the stylistic sphere of Ukrainian pop and vocal art. The subject of the study is arrangement as a special kind of musical creativity and a factor in the stylistic evolution of Ukrainian pop and vocal art. The purpose of the study is to develop theoretical and methodological approaches to the comprehensive study of the art of arrangement as a factor in the stylistic evolution of Ukrainian pop and vocal art. The specific methods used in the thesis were a combination of the descriptive auditory method and the method of auditory expertise in the analysis of pop song arrangements, as well as the semiotic method in decoding the system of cultural codes in the musical language of the arrangement. The research was conducted using MIDI tools and a set of plug-ins in the computer program Logic Pro X. The theoretical result of the study is the creation of a methodology for stylistic attribution of a cover version of a popular pop-vocal piece. The scientific novelty of the dissertation lies in the comprehensive study of the problem, where for the first time: theoretical and methodological approaches to the comprehensive study of the phenomenon of arrangement as a special type of musical creativity are substantiated; the definition of the concept of arrangement as a type of composition and a universal method of creativity in various types of musical activity is formulated; the stylistic functions of arrangement in the construction of the musical whole of a pop-vocal composition are systematised; the culture-creating function of the art of arrangement in the modern system of musical communication is proved; methodological approaches to the study of the specifics of song cover arrangement as a phenomenon of authorial reinterpretation are outlined; the scientific apparatus of semiotic methodology is adapted to identify artistic techniques of double coding in the musical language of modern arrangements of pop-song compositions. The practical significance of the dissertation materials lies in the prospect of their implementation in the preparation of textbooks, manuals, training courses on the history and theory of musical styles and genres, computer technologies in contemporary music, theory and practice of musical interpretation, improvisation, instrumentation, instrumentation and arrangement.
