The object of the study is the process of physical therapy of people with gunshot wounds of the free upper limb. Purpose of the study: to develop, scientifically substantiate, and experimentally prove the effectiveness of an algorithm of physical therapy measures for people with gunshot wounds of the free upper limb, aimed at the fastest possible restoration of its functions, improvement of the quality of life and return of servicemen to social and professional activities. Research methods: 1. theoretical methods: analysis, synthesis and generalization of data from scientific and scientific-methodical literature, medical documentation; 2. biomedical research methods: content analysis of medical documentation, scales: FIM, DASH, VAS; 3. biomechanical research methods: anthropometry, goniometry, dynamometry; 4. sociological methods: observation, HARS scale, PHQ-9 depression self-assessment scale, questionnaire (military questionnaire); 5. methods of mathematical statistics. Scientific novelty of the results: 1. for the first time, on the basis of indicators characterizing impaired functional status, quality of life and restrictions in social and professional activities of servicemen, an algorithm for the application of physical therapy measures in persons with gunshot wounds of the free upper extremity, based on the basic principles of ICF, was developed and scientifically substantiated; 2. for the first time, within the framework of the developed algorithm, a program of physical therapy for persons with gunshot wounds of the free upper extremity was implemented, taking into account the localization of the injury, which included an integrated approach to the application of rehabilitation measures aimed at restoring the skills of everyday life and activities related to the performance of military duties; 3. for the first time data on the specifics of restoring the quality of life of servicemen with upper extremity injuries, taking into account the peculiarities of professional activity, psycho-emotional state and social activity; 4. a set of categories and methods of examination in persons with gunshot wounds of the free upper extremity in accordance with the domains of the ICF and based on the analysis of daily activities and needs of servicemen was clarified and specified; 5. data on the positive impact of modern physical therapy measures in persons with upper limb injuries on the effective recovery of servicemen, rapid return of their ability to work, readiness to perform and achieve military objectives during hostilities were supplemented and expanded; 6. knowledge on the application of the biopsychosocial approach in the organization of the rehabilitation process of servicemen with gunshot wounds of the free upper limb was further developed; 7. data on the influence of the psycho-emotional state on the rehabilitation process were deepened. The results of using the developed algorithm of physical therapy measures for people with gunshot wounds of the free upper limb contributed to improving the quality of life of the wounded and their families, and the return of some servicemen to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
