The object of the study is the process of physical therapy of patients with comorbidity of metabolic syndrome and senile asthenia. The purpose of the study is theoretical substantiation, creation and verification of the effectiveness of a complex program of physical therapy for the elderly with comorbidity of metabolic syndrome and senile asthenia, aimed at improving their functional capabilities and facilitating their performance of activities of daily life. Research methods. Analysis of special and scientific and methodical literature; the following indicators were quantitatively assessed: complaints, level of kinesiophobia (according to the Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale), psycho-emotional state (according to the Geriatric Depression Scale); waist and hip circumferences and their ratio, body weight, height, body mass index was calculated; the content of fat, muscle tissue, water, and visceral fat in the body was determined by the method of bioimpedance measurement; systolic and diastolic pressure levels, heart rate, Kvass endurance coefficient, Baevsky tension index, Robinson index; six-minute test (traveled distance, degree of fatigue according to the Borg scale, severity of dyspnea and cardiac pain); levels of triglycerides, high-density lipoproteins, hyperglycemia; hand dynamometry, determination of balance and motor control (Short Physical Performance Battery); Senior Fitness Test; Berg scale testing; assessment of motor activity of the elderly (Tinetti), Edmonton Frail Scale, Barthel index. The obtained results of each stage of the research were processed by mathematical and statistical research methods. Theoretical and practical significance. It consists in the creation of a scientifically based long-term complex program of physical therapy for the elderly with metabolic syndrome and senile asthenia, which will contribute to the reduction of kinesiophobia and psycho-emotional suppression, improvement of anthropometric and component characteristics of the body; dynamics of motor function; normalization of biochemical indicators; reduction of manifestations of motor activity limitations, physical weakness, balance disorders; improving the parameters of the functioning of the cardiovascular system; facilitating the performance of various activities. The practical developments of the dissertation research were used in the practical activities of the Center for Restorative Medicine and Rehabilitation "ARAVMED" (Ivano-Frankivsk), the Rehabilitation Center of St. Yudy-Tadeya (Ivano-Frankivsk), in particular, improved rehabilitation programs for the elderly with comorbid pathology of internal organs, which is confirmed by acts of implementation. The theoretical and methodological developments of the research are used in the educational process of the department of general practice, family medicine and rehabilitation of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, in particular in the lecture course of the discipline "Physical rehabilitation with comorbid pathology" and the department of therapy, rehabilitation and morphology of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, in particular in the educational discipline "Physical therapy for diseases of the cardiovascular system", which is confirmed by acts of implementation. The program can be the basis for ensuring effective modern rehabilitation work among the elderly with comorbid pathology. It can be used in the work practice of physical therapists, occupational therapists, doctors of physical and rehabilitation medicine, other specialists of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team of specialized cardiology, endocrinology, geriatric and non-specialized rehabilitation departments.
The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the substantiation of the scientific and theoretical principles of creating a modern program of physical therapy for the elderly with metabolic syndrome and senile asthenia. For the first time, a complex long-term program of physical therapy for the elderly with metabolic syndrome and senile asthenia has been developed, the characteristic features of which are the performance of therapeutic exercises of various directions, functional training using the PROSEDOS platforms, Nordic walking, massage, nutrition modification, therapeutic training of patients, elements of occupational therapy, which distinguishes it from conventional physical therapy programs. For the first time, data were obtained on the peculiarities of the course of senile asthenia in patients with metabolic syndrome (separately for each comorbid condition and their general impact (sarcopenic obesity) on the health of the elderly).
