The thesis presents the results of research of information and documentation support for the activities of a higher education institution in the context of the digital society development and theoretically substantiates the introduction of digital technologies into the educational process.
The article highlights the regulatory and legal support for the operation of a higher education institution in Ukraine in the current conditions. The author considers the need for the further improvement of the regulatory framework, making relevant amendments to applicable laws, adoption of new regulations, in particular, in the current issues of public funding, system security and protection of confidential information when using digital tools.
The article considers the system of electronic document management in higher education institutions, which allows for effective storage and processing of big data, automate the process of document storage and facilitates quick access to the required information. The overall goal of implementing electronic document management in higher education institutions is to increase productivity, quickly exchange documents between departments, ensure data security and confidentiality, as well as optimize document processing in higher education institutions.
The modern automated management system of a higher education institution is an important component of the information and documentary support of the operations of a higher education institution, which is designed to manage and ensure the educational process. The introduction of specialized software allows automating the document processing workflows, including mailing, signing, storage and archiving, solving problems of ensuring the completeness of analytical data and avoiding duplication of information. The author considers automated management systems of higher education institutions, such as Dean's Office and the HEI automated management system, which are designed to support and organize the educational activities of higher education institutions.
The role of the high school library in the structure of information support for the educational process, scientific and research activities, compliance with the academic integrity standards, as well as improving the culture of information literacy among participants of educational activities has been substantiated. It has been proved that in modern conditions the role of high school libraries is expanding significantly; the new tasks are being searched for, such as creation of an effective content for social media, online events hosting and creation of own video products, active online interaction with the audience etc.
A thorough research of international documentation on the digital transformation of higher education in Europe and the United States allows identifying the key tools for digitalizing the educational activities of higher education institutions that are widely used abroad, i.e. public online courses, e-learning platforms for organizing distance learning, adaptive technologies, virtual and augmented reality, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, etc. The author proposes a model for the digitalization of Ukrainian high schools to optimize the management of the educational process, introduce modern technologies in education, develop digital competencies and skills of participants in the educational process, international exchange of experience and knowledge, reduce barriers and provide access to digital educational opportunities for all community groups, as well as improve the quality of educational services.
The author proposes a model of higher digital education in Ukraine that includes international and domestic projects and educational platforms, promoting the development of digital competencies, creating flexible and personalized learning environments, developing the educational sphere, leveraging on and integrating the best international practices and innovative teaching methods.The article outlines promising areas for the use of digital technologies in high schools, which is one of the key and sustainable trends in the development of the educational process and the quality of higher education.
