The dissertation is devoted to the solution of a scientific and practical task in the field of psychology, namely, determining the features of the professional “self-concept” of military personnel who are combatants.
The first chapter analyzes and defines emphasized that the personal “self-concept”, forming a complex internal structure, is a dynamic formation of the highest level of self-identity and self-awareness, which is formed and developed throughout the entire life course of a person, ensuring his or her self-development and adaptive 10 capabilities, regulation of behavioral reactions, adaptation and integration into the surrounding society, and makes it possible to achieve a certain personal coherence (both internal and between the external and internal environment) and determines all manifestations of personal life.
The author analyzes established that the professional “self-concept” is a product of the general personal “self-concept” and has similar structural, logical and functional manifestations, which are formed in the process of professional attitude and professional self-determination. It has been determined that awareness of the phenomenon of the professional “self-concept” of servicemen - combatants serves as a driving force for an in-depth study of its features and structural constructs, which, in turn, contributes to determining the levels of violation of their proportionality, establishing possible levels of destructuring and disharmonization, which provokes possible antisocial behavior and various disorders of social activity in a peaceful society and disharmonization of the interrelationships between the “internal” and “external” environment of the personal “self-concept”.
The second section determines that the organization and design of the empirical study to determine the features of the professional self-concept of military personnel participating in combat operations are fully comparable to the research goal and fully meet the objectives. The third chapter empirically investigated the peculiarities of the professional “self-concept” of servicemen participating in combat operations and their psychosocial characteristics, which made it possible to determine the mostly insufficient level of cognitive and emotional-evaluative constructs of their professional “self-concept”, which was manifested by the development of negative emotional and personal characteristics that developed as a result of the subjective perception of the threat of combat injuries (including psychological) while participating in combat operations.
Scientific novelty of the results.
1. For the first time, the psychological determinants of the personal profile of servicemen - combatants were empirically explicated and structured and a close relationship between the psychological determinants of the phenomenon of participation in combat actions and the empirical referents of cognitive, emotional-evaluative, motivational, behavioral and spiritual-value “self-conceptual” constructs was established.
2. For the first time, an algorithm for implementing a comprehensive program of psychocorrection of the professional “self-concept” of military personnel participating in combat operations aimed at forming their positive professional “self-concept”, which activates psychological personal defense mechanisms and offsets the negative effects of participation in combat operations on structural “self-conceptual” constructs, has been developed, scientifically substantiated and tested.
3. The idea of the destructive role of the phenomenon of participation in hostilities in the formation of the personal “self-concept” of servicemen and the destructive psychophysiological and psycho-emotional crisis influences on the deformation of the conceptual components of the “self-concept” of servicemen is deepened, which objectifies the need for psychocorrectional work with this contingent.
4. The theoretical model of the structural organization of the personal and professional “self-concept” of servicemen - combatants in the aggregate of cognitive, emotional-evaluative, motivational, behavioral and spiritual-value “self-concept” constructs was further developed, which expands scientific understanding of the peculiarities of the structural organization of the studied phenomenon. The results obtained in the dissertation can be used to optimize psychological support, assistance and rehabilitation of military personnel - combatants in the direction of harmonizing their personal and professional “self-concept”.
