Essay

This dissertation research presents a comprehensive approach to addressing the scientific problem and examines the pedagogical conditions for the formation of Korean-speaking linguo-sociocultural competence in future philologists in speaking. The study investigates the development of linguo-sociocultural competence within the context of scientific and methodological aspects, including its structure, components, and factors influencing its formation. The expansion of Korean studies has created a demand for effective teaching methodologies for the Korean language, highlighting the difficulties in developing Korean-speaking linguo-sociocultural competence in speaking, which arise from significant discrepancies in verbal and non-verbal behavior between Ukrainians and Koreans, as well as the lack of theoretical research and practical developments aimed at fostering Korean-speaking linguo-sociocultural competence in speaking. The relevance of this research is determined by the necessity to prepare competent philologists who possess a high level of extralinguistic knowledge about the culture, daily life, and people of Korea. These individuals should be capable of producing monologic and dialogic statements related to the life, culture, and history of Korea, utilizing culturally marked linguistic units and non-verbal means of communication effectively in various communicative situations. Additionally, there exist contradictions between the achievements in the area of developing linguo-sociocultural competence in European languages and the verbal and non-verbal characteristics of communication within Korean culture, as well as discrepancies between the content of educational programs and teaching materials in the Korean language for future philologists and their communication needs. Furthermore, there is a notable gap between the abundance of culturally marked communication situations and the inadequate level of Koreanspeaking linguo-sociocultural competence in speaking.
