Essay

In modern society, the institution of the family is undergoing significant transformations, which is manifested by changing approaches to relationships between men and women, a decrease in the number of marriages and an increase in the number of divorces. Today, marriage often loses the character of a mandatory social norm, and relationships are built mainly on the basis of psychological needs for closeness, support and mutual understanding. However, these social changes create new challenges, including insufficient personal readiness to build harmonious and stable marital relationships, which is one of the key causes of conflicts, divorces and dissatisfaction with the relationships. Problems related to readiness for marriage affect not only the quality of family life, but also the upbringing of children, the formation of their psychological security and their overall development. The lack of formed marriage potential, insufficient knowledge of roles and functions in marriage, a low level of emotional maturity and the inability to satisfy the basic needs of one's own and one's partner often become the causes of difficulties in creating and maintaining a family. Despite the fact that interest in the problem of the family has always been relevant for many sciences, such as psychology, sociology, pedagogy, demography and others, the study of a person's readiness for marriage acquires special importance in modern conditions. Therefore, it is important not only to understand the psychological conditions that contribute to the development of marriage potential, but also to develop effective methods for its formation, which has not only theoretical but practical significance for creating conditions that contribute to stable, happy and harmonious marriages. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and empirically investigate the psychological conditions for the development of personal readiness for married life. After conducting a comprehensive analysis, the definition of «personal readiness for married life», which is a psychological phenomenon formed due to parental upbringing and their example of interaction, the influence of society, various media sources and a person's personal experience, which affects the choices, decisions, and behavior of an individual as a family-oriented one is first proposed. In addition, based on the psychological dictionary database, the concept of «psychological condition», which is a necessary psychological circumstance that facilitates a specific aspect of an individual's psychological development. Thanks to the study of theoretical sources and by inviting experts to rank, a list of components of readiness for married life is established, namely: cognitive, behavioral and personal. On their basis, a personality model that is capable of building harmonious family relationships is created. It contains a galaxy of criteria by which the level of individual readiness for marriage is diagnosed (low, medium, high). In accordance with the purpose and objectives of the study, based on the main functions and family tasks, psychological conditions that contribute to the development of personal readiness for married life are developed and theoretically substantiated. The opinions of respondents and experts are summarized and the ten most influential psychological conditions for the development of readiness for marriage are identified as. Objective psychological conditions: family relationships between parents; parental upbringing; emotional closeness between parents and children; first experience of relationships; presence/absence of brothers/sisters; first love; religious atmosphere in the family in which the child grew up. Subjective psychological conditions: access to an Internet resource; watching films about family and marital relations; relationships with friends. Based on the theoretical analysis and results of the ascertaining stage of the study, a training and development program «The Road to Family Happiness: readiness for Marriage» is developed. The main goal of the program is to develop the individual's readiness for married life through the consistent formation of marital potential, taking into account objective and subjective psychological conditions, through the cognitive, behavioral and personal component in three stages. The assessment of the results of the experimental study, obtained during the implementation of the author's development and processed using mathematical statistics methods, allows us to conclude about its effectiveness and to assert that the research hypothesis has been confirmed.
