Koziaruk Alina. Verbalisation of the author's perception of the environment in the Ukrainian postmodern literary text: stylistic, semantic and expressive aspects.

The relevance of the research topic is determined by its inclusion in the general range of linguistic studies, which reflects the special interest of modern Ukrainian linguistics in the global problem of structuring human knowledge about the universe through its verbalisation in language/speech, text and discourse. Within the framework of the cognitive approach, we consider the peculiarities of the linguistic structure of the author's representation of the universe and various knowledge in the linguistic picture of the world of Ukrainian postmodern writers and the ways of conceptual organisation of knowledge in the process of constructing and decoding literary texts. In Ukrainian linguistics, a description of mental representations of linguistic knowledge and their specific application is expected, as well as an analysis of the reaction of society and the linguistic individual to the social, cultural, value, linguistic processes of the late ХХ - early ХХІ centuries.
The purpose of the study is to trace the main trends in the representation of the universe in the literary texts of Ukrainian postmodern discourse, to carry out a semantic analysis of the peculiarities of individual perception of the colour picture of the world, the peculiarities of intimation in the texts of contemporary writers, to find out the embodiment of the function of ironic worldview and to evaluate the lexical and semantic means of contemporary Ukrainian texts, to identify the evaluative and expressive effect, thus verbalising the grid of coordinates of value orientations of the modern vision of the environment by the authors of the declared prose.
The purpose of the dissertation determines the following tasks:
• to identify, using the material of contemporary Ukrainian prose of the early XXI century, trends in the construction of the vision of the world by postmodern writers and the features of the verbalization of authorial intentions;
• to reveal the concepts of “individual author's style” and “individual author's picture of the world”;
• to identify the mechanisms of creating an individual colour effect in modern prose;
• to analyse the means of the category of intimation used by postmodern authors;
• to identify and analyse borrowings from foreign languages, in particular English, and determine their place in the vocabulary of modern prose, to explain the concept of “fashion” in the language;
• to analyse the quantification certainty of the lexemes used by the authors in syncretic qualitative, quantitative and subject nominations;
• to explore the process of formation of semantic and ironic connotations in the prose of selected postmodernist writers.
The object of the study is the works of writers of the early ХХІ century. The subject of the study is the means of verbalising the author's perception of the environment in modern artistic discourse, mental structures objectified in human social activity and literary texts by contemporary Ukrainian writers. The source of the material selection was the works of contemporary Ukrainian writers Maryna Hrymych ‘Bartholomew's Night’, ‘Egoist’, Halyna Vdovychenko ‘The Most Important is at the End’, ‘Bora’, Nadiyka Herbish ‘Warm Stories for Coffee’, Tamara Horikha Zernia ‘The Principle of Intervention’, Larysa Denysenko ‘Dancing in Masks’, Ksenia Zastavska ‘STECK. The Lace of Life’, Kapranov Brothers “Forget River”, Irena Karpa “Good News from the Aral Sea”, Liudmyla Kohut “The Country of Broken Hearts”, Maria Matios “Four Seasons of Life”, ’Nation. Revelations, and Olga Slonievska “The Girl on the Balloon”, written between 2002 and 2024.
The scientific novelty of the research results is determined by the fact that it is the first to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the processes of representation of the author's worldview in contemporary Ukrainian prose from the standpoint of creating a general model of perception of the environment based on the superposition of partial mindsets of individual writers. The new cognitive material revealed the main text categories functioning in artistic discourse, and defined the main means of evaluative-expressive coloring of modern works. The construction of the author's linguistic coordinates of verbalisation of the linguistic picture of the world in the presented works is defined as new.
Theoretical significance of the work lies in the development of a comprehensive approach to the problem of the author's perception of the environment and its verbalisation in the artistic discourse of postmodern writers.
