There is a complex investigation of the development of theatrical art under the condition of revolutionary changes, made by national regims and the soviet power. Methods of investigation: problematic-chronological, comporative historical and statistic-analythical. It has been proved that the rising of the role of theatre in socio-politial life of Ukraine took place in the period of revolution. Theatrical art performed both aesthetic-educational and propaganda functions.
