Essay

The dissertation deals with the problems of the development and the activities of the cultural and educational organizations in the South of Ukraine during 1917-1929. For the first time the investigation gives a complex analyses of the place and the role of the cultural and educational institutijns during the cul-tural transformations which took place in the country; the forms and the methods of their work are also presented in the dissertation. It is also noted that the cultural and educational organizations made a consid-erable contribution to the raising of the Ukrainian people's cultural level.
