The dissertation is devoted to the investigation of the public and political activities of metropolitan Аndrey Sheptytsky. It is proved that principal factor of the public and political activities of Metropolitan was the fight for establishment of the independent united state of Ukrainian people on the age-long ethnic lands. In practice the Metropolitan куфдшяув this tendency with obligatory observance of the regulations and principles of christian moral. He used exclusively legitimate means to achieve his object.
