In the thesis centuries the research work in the history of orthodox cloisters are the history of orthodox cloisters are reprented and the division into periods is offered. The main tasr of this research work is the study of social political, cultural and economic pre-conditions and conditions, which promoted the revival of monasteries in the second half of the 19 th century, the pecularities of their functions before the 30 th of the 20 th century.
