The dissertation is devoted to the demographic processes influencing the structure of population in Donetsk region in the post-war period. The factors contributing into the population changes have been analysed. The changes in the structure of households, natural and mechanical migra-tions as well as their aftereffects have been studied. The problems of the multinational nature of the Donetsk region population, the educational level and the social structure of the population in the area is con-sidered.
