The subject of research is the system "student-computer" as a system "man-computer". The purpose of research is the development of methods of estimation of quality of the educational-cognitive activity of students in the system "student-computer". The methods of research are ergonomic methods, method of the group registration of arguments, fuzzy logic, mathematical statistics. The equipment used - a personal computer. The theoretical results - are the constructed prognostic, qualimetric, multifactor models of interaction in the system "student-computer". The practical results are the models of interaction allowing: to realize the quantitative prognosis of the quality of educational-cognitive activity; to define a set of parameters" of a learning medium and the value of the levels of their manifestation providing the optimal construction of computer training techniques; to perform the selfregulation of educational-cognitive activity by those being trained with the purpose of raising its quality. The no velty lies in the new prognostic approach to the quality evaluation of educational-cognitive activity; the constructed models make it possible to take into consideration a great number of factors, to automatically sort out insignificant factors, to take into account the factors allowing only qualitative measuring. Implementation stage - the Ukrainian Engineering-Pedagogical Academy (Kharkov), Sumy State Agricultural University, the Engineering Centre of Instrument Making and Computerization (Kharkov), Computering Courses of the Ukrainian-Chinese Joint Venture "Jan-Fan" (Kharkov). The sphere of use - training centres, qualification raising centres. educational establishments of the third and fourth level of accreditation.
