The dissertation is devoted to the problem of the process of formation of senior pupils' figurative thinking by means of art. On the base of the analyses of scientific literature basis of figurative thinking are determined, psychologic-pedagogical conditions are designed and methods of formation of senior pupils' figurative thinking, psychological and pedagogical art potential is discovered means of the formation of senior pupils' figurative thinking. Complex pedagogical technology of the development of the figurative thinking is created and approved by means of art. Effectiveness of art influence on the formation of figurative thinking is proved by the results of the experimental work.
