Essay

The dissertation contains a research work work on Ukrainian costume, being bright phenomenon of national culture. The work covers period from the middle ХIХ c. throught the course of ХХ c. - the time of dynamical changes in social structure and cultural life in Ukrainians. These factors had radical influence upon the development of ethnical country folk costume as well as that of Ukrainian intelligensia; educated women had constatly devoted quite significant efforts for survival of traditional embroidery and ethnical folk costume under new social conditions. As a result these had ben preserved not only in the art but also in other fields of life, too.
