Object of the dissertation - population and of Transnistrian region. The purpose - develop-ment and substantiation of ways of increase of a management efficiency by socio economic proc-esses at a regional level through monitoring demographic, ethnic, linguistic, settlements and ecological processes. Total - the modern geo-demographic situation is considered; the theoretical, methodological principles of study of systems of moving are analysed; is developed settlements geodemographic and settlements typology of territory of region; the system of concrete measures directed on effective demo-graphic and of settlements policy is justified. The results of research are used by state bodies of statistics.
