Sych V. Systematics and assessment of recreational and tourism potential of the region on the basis of geographical environment and recreational clusters.

The dissertation is devoted to solving an actual scientific problem of developing methodological foundations for research of the recreational and tourist potential of the region in its recreational environment. The environmental approach combines component and integral assessments of recreational and tourist potential (RTP) and significantly deepens its characteristics by component environments – natural, social, economic, anthropogenic, etc. The participation of recreational and tourist activities (RTA) in the development of socio – natural types of economic activity that form a new sector at the level of the national economy and intersectoral complexes of RTA - at the regional level is determined; a scheme of the regional intersectoral RTA complex has been developed, which combines commercial and non-commercial types of recreational activities with all its forms. The directions of classification and evaluation of RTP are developed; along with the traditional – component-resource and functional classifications of conditions and resources of tourism and recreation, a general methodological scheme for classification and evaluation of RTP is presented, which collectively considers all the components of RTA. As a basic unit of such taxonomy, it is proposed to use a «Recreational cluster», which is a characteristic combination of types and forms of RTA and component conditions and resources that provide them in a certain territory. New possibilities of characterization of RTP of the region on the methodological basis of the geographical environment are substantiated and a taxonomy of forms of territorial organization of RTA based on Recreational environments is developed. On the example of the Ukrainian Black Sea region, the planning possibilities of comparable characteristics of the natural framework of environmental safety and geospatial organization of the population and economy of the region are shown.
