The dissertation presents the author's latest direction of research in social geography: the study of monodevelopment processes and territorial monosystems of different hierarchical levels, based on monosystemic and monoprocess approaches, theory of monosystem development, syncretic socio-geographical paradigm and terminology. The main provisions of the theory of development of monosystems have been formulated and substantiated. Approaches to identification and definition of territorial system of mono-development in geographical space have been outlined. The types of socio-geographical systems in the light of their mono-development have been characterized. The signs and characteristics of mono-development features of basic socio-geographical systems have been revealed. The tendencies of structural changes in socio-geographical systems in the context of their mono-development have been analysed. The mono-development of agrarian territorial systems and transformation of their territorial structure, industrial territorial systems, technoparks and industrial innovation centers as the newest spatial nodes and specialized social nodes in the structure of the newest space of the region has been carried out. The conceptual bases of strategic management of mono-development of territories, substantiated by the author based on foreign and state experience have been presented. The principles of management based on monodevelopment modelling of branch social and geographical systems have been formed. Approaches to considering the reform of the administrative-territorial structure of Ukraine in the study of monosystems, strategic objectives for the management of mono-development of the Carpathian region and approaches to their implementation have been proposed.
