Essay

The priority of present-day geographic over traditional territorial and administrative mapping of Ukraine taken, the pioneer research in national historiography tracing the economic evolution of landed estates in Right bank Ukraine is done. The dissertation is a pilot study focusing on landed estates economic activity rather than their serfdom exploitation. The landed estates exposure to money-goods relations is highlighted. The worthy issues in Ukrainian economy within the span of transition from serfdom-feudal to capitalist relations are identified.
