Theoretical concept of coastal zone have been worked out in-depth and elaborated on according to Ukraine's conditions. The criteria of boundary and composition definition of a coastal zone are proposed, principles and methods its functional and territorial organization have been worked out. Demographic and economic attraction of the coastal zone has been evaluated. The main elements of component, functional and territorial structure of the coastal zone have been researched. Functional zoning of Odessa region coastal zone was carried out. There were defined problems, tendencies and ways of development of functional and territorial structure of Odessa coastal zone.
