Essay

. Karyotipic diversity of some plant species from Crepis genera was studied. The methods to reveal differently condensed chromosomal parts at prometaphase stage, approaches to measure optical densities in individual chromosomes and interchromosomal parts by densitometrical scanning are highlighted. The main results of the work have found an application in solving the problems of inter- and intraspecific differentiation of chromosomes in karyotypes.
