Kupriyenko I. Control of dipsomania conditions with carbamazepin in patients with alcoholism

Dipsomania conditions. The investigation is based on complex examination of patients with alcoholic dependence who experienced dipsomaniac conditions with signs of unrestrained, uncontrolled pathological inclination to alcohol, massive 24-hour intoxication leading to phase of generalized psychic and physical exhaustion, intermittent with inversion of attraction to alcohol before the following fit of hard drinking. On the basis of the investigation of clinical course, EEG, REG data, condition of non-specific reactivity in true dipsomania, the new individual approaches to its differential therapy with finlepsin (carbamazepin) considering clinical option of dipsomania, hard drinking fit period, character of pathophysiological disorders, non-specific reactivity condition have been worked out.
