The USDRP and the UPSR. The purpose: to research problem of general and specific features in ideologies and activities of the Ukrainian Social Democrats and the Ukrainian Socialist Revolutionaries, to analyse their role in context of the Ukrainian revolution and its defeat. The methods: historical, logical, historical-comparative, synchronous, historical-genetic, problematical-chronological and others. It was demonstrated that the origination and the ideological nature of the Ukrainian Social Democrats and the Ukrainian Socialist Revolutionaries had been defined by interplay of the Ukrainian national revival ideological tradition, and the social liberation ideas from Russia and Western Europe. It was defined influences and strength of the USDRP and the UPSR in the epoch of Central Rada. It was made out that there was not an alliance between the USDRP and the UPSR in the period of Central Rada. It was ascertained that the splits within both the Ukrainian Social Democrats and the Ukrainian Socialist Revo lutionaries were consequences of crisis of their ideologies. It is planned to usage of results for investigations concerning history of the Ukrainian socialist thought, the Ukrainian statehood formatting in 1917-1920, and also for lecturing course of Ukraine history at HS. Sphere of usage: historical investigations, course of lectures.
