The thesis is the first complex research in the Ukraine about the participance of the Russian revolutionary and liberal intelligentsia in the Ukrainian national revival in the context of the three stages of this process: folklore and ethnography period, or collecting the historical heritage (up to the foundation of the Cyril-Methody Brothehood), enlightenment period (to the end of XIX century), and political stage of the Ukrainian Renaissance (from 1900 to 1917).
