Essay

The thesis is devoted to the research of the basic directions of the development of social and political processes in one of Ukraine's most active in political respect regions during the struggle of the Ukrainian people for winning sovereignty and independence and in period of the development of young independent Ukrainian state. It is shown, that nationaly-democratic forces, which were formed on the boundary of 80-th-90-th years made a political life in the region more active and directed the energy of its inhabitans into constructive river-bed of national liberation emulations, contributed to the formation and to the development of political pluralism and multi-party system. The place of the western region in social and political life of the contemporary Ukraine cleared up. It is defined, that the political parties, public organizations, region sociality were supported by the stateforming efforts of the Ukrainian guidance in the matter of the development of the Ukrainian state system on the base of realization of the Ukrainian national idea.
