The dissertation is devoted to the problem of the reforms of the state peasants in the Left-Bank Ukraine. The character and purpose of the research caused first of all the use of archival materials and a great number of historical sources. The state peasants quantity, their settlement, their social and legal status on the eve of the adoption of reforms, their transference into the department of common administrative bodies, the use of proprietary records, changes in peasants allotment, the introduction of a new quitrent tax and its reforming into redemption money are analysed in this work.
