Donik O. Charitable and cultural and educational activity of the Tereschenkos in Ukraine (second half of XIX - beginning of XX century)

The thesis is devoted to integrated research of charitable, cultural and educational activity of the individual representatives of the known Ukrainian businessmen - landowners Tereschenkos. Also as private founders concerning both development of entities of a social protection and health care of the impoverished employees of initial, middle, highest and special trade-union formation, cultural and educational philanthropic companies, the special attention is given to the analysis of their activity in organization of a charitable orientation. The sponsor activity concerning collecting works of art by the separate members of the Tereschenkovs is also illuminated in the work. Their powerful contribution to cultural and spiritual heritage of Ukraine was shown, namely, the known museums birth, religious-temple building, monumental art.The public and intellectual factors of that epoch were ascertained challenging the Tereschenkovs to large charitable and sponsor activity. It was indicated in the thesis that t he Tereschenkovs members activity assisted in promotion of civil company in Ukraine in the second half of XIX - beginning of XX century.
