Kovalenko S. Pathogenetic background of the differentiated treatment in patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis of various age

The basic theses of the dissertation comprise a comparative analysis of the intensity of free radical lipid oxidation, the activity of antiradical defense system in correlation with the morphofunctional peculiarities of erythrocytes, their catecholamine-depositing function, the ultramicroscopic state of the epitheliocytes of the bronchial tree in 136 patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis of various age. A study of the catecholamine-depositing function of erythrocytes has revealed a decrease of various degree in all age groups of patients with simultaneous increase of the severity of the disease and bronchial obstruction. An electronic-microscopic investigation of the epitheliocytes of the bronchial tree has shown an increase dystrophic-destructive changes of the ciliated epitheliocytes as the age and disease progressed. It has been proved that the application of multimodality therapy, employing the polyenzymatic medication "Wobe Mugos E", ethimosol, ascorbic acid favours an improvement of the d isease course, the normalization of the morphofunctional properties of erythrocytes, their catecholamine-depositing function, supresses uncontrollable lipid peroxidation and activates of the antioxidant defense.
