Essay

Object: Varieties of winter common wheat of a different ecological and geographic origin. Purpose: selection of perspective sources of winter hardiness of winter wheat for conditions of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods: field, laboratory, mathematical statistics and simulation. Results: the correlation and multiple relations among characters are studied. The complex of the approaches is determined permitting to select valuable basic material reliably. The new principle of study of winter hardiness - multilevel mount is offered. The gene pool for the most winter- and frost resistant accessions is identified. A new hybrid material is created. Area of application: breeding and educational institutions of Ukraine and CIS.
