Botvinikova L. The efficacy of the educational and rehabilitation programs in the complex treatment of patients with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive bronchitis

Data of clinical, functional and psychological investigations of 174 patients: 66 with bronchial asthma (BA) and 54 with chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB), who received a complex treatment using educational and rehabilitation program in asthma-school and 28 patients with BA and 26 - with COB who received conventional therapy in the out-patient department are presented. In this work a scientific basis of educational and rehabilitation programs of a complex treatment of BA and COB patients is given. An original procedure of a group training of ambulatory BA and COB patients is worked out. Training of BA and COB patients in asthma-school allowed to completely pursue prophylactics and self-control of the disease. It has been shown that a complex treatment which included a long-term educational and rehabilitation of BA and COB patients allows to improve not only a clinical course of the disease, to achieve improvement and stabilisation of functional data but to better significantly patients quality of life.
