Essay

It has been set forth the problems of the reaction of inbred lines, cytosterile linesclones and simple hybrids to herbicides with different effects. It has been established that lines demonstrate an adverse reaction for edaphic (residual) effect herbicides, independent of different productivities and different durations of vegetative period. The research conducted shows that the difference in reaction to herbicides is principally controlled by the nuclear genotype. Cytoplasmatic differences in herbicide reaction were rare. The level of reaction of corn to herbicide was independent of the effect of heterosis
