Essay

The dissertation investigates peculiarities of the Ukrainian confessional question within the context of political relations of Russia and the Rech Pospolita at the end of XVII - XVIII centuries. Here it is studied the process of active usage by Russian leaders of their political right (obtained according to the terms of the treaty 1686) and religious duty (as the consequence of subordination of Kyiv mother country to Moscow patriarchy 1686) to control inviolability of rights of orthodox population in the Rech Pospolita for solution of political tasks relative to Poland. Here it is marked the sequences of Russian usage of the confessional question in the political projects which manifested in activization of Catholic-Uniate forces during the process of the attack on the Orthodox belief of the right-bank Ukraine, what, in it's turn, gave to the neighbouring states the reason to interfere into the internal business of the Rech Pospolita
