In this dissertation work it was carried out the complex scientific research on study of public political and scientific activities of the Galician Historian of the 2nd Half of the XIX - the Beginning of the XX centuries Anton Petrushevych. Making use of many-years historical sources and documents, the author exposes the place of this scientist in the development of cultural-and-educational as well political societies of the region. Based on systematization of factual material it has been characterized the scientific heritage of A.Petrushevych, his contribution to development of the Ukrainian History of the Middle Ages, Church History, Study of early texts, Archaeology, special historical disciplines.
