Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the efficiency improvement of functioning the transport corridors by means of introduction of contrailer transportation on railways of Ukraine, optimization of mass of freight trains and track layout of technical stations. The analysis and scientific generalization of experience of domestic and foreign developments in the given field, methods of the mathematical statistics, the theory of probability have been used during the research work performance. Importance of the results obtained is in an opportunity to solve the problems of optimization of freight train masses under existing and potential parameters of traction facilities and technical equipment of the stations. The work performed will facilitate considerably calculations of the necessary quantity of train reception and departure tracks in yards of technical stations located within the limits of transport corridors. The new economic-mathematical model allowing the optimization of mass of freight trains in track sections (on a criterion of minimum of reduced expenses) has been developed. Characteristics, which enable one to determine the unified mass of trains in railway routes including a few railway sections, have been proposed; to simplify calculations the ton-kilometer charts are offered to use. A mathematical model for determination of the quantity of train reception and departure tracks in technical station yards in transport corridors of Ukraine has been suggested for the first time. Characteristics of functioning the transport corridors for passing-through the specialized contrailer trains have been first obtained.
