In the dissertation according to the analyses of history pedagogical literature and archives materials for the first time the dynamic of formation of students' physical training education in higher pedagogical educational institutions of Ukraine from 1917 up to 1941 is revealed, and also the tendency of development of physical training education as a subject is exposed. At the same time the social and economic conditions both scientific and technical methods of organization of students' physical training education are characterized, the sense, directions and forms of its realization in higher pedagogical educational institutions of Ukraine in the researched period are determined.
